Our patients

Our patients mean everything to us- nothing makes us happier than helping you get better and regain your life.

A few months ago, I was having some real problems with my legs resulting in having to give up running which I love to do. Following a recommendation I went to see Kristin at PhysiOptima, and she assessed my injuries and recommended I get fitted for a pair of orthotic insoles and have a course of some physiotherapy. I have now been wearing the insoles for a few months. I am back running, and regularly competing in 10K races, and have recently completed a half marathon. My life has been transformed by Kristin & her team & I cannot recommend Physioptima highly enough.

I have regular massages. Without fail I always leave Melissa feeling much much better than I arrive. Melissa is professional and kind, she intuitively knows what and where to massage. My body moves much more freely since attending for regular massages. Melissa is an excellent masseur and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her services.

I first contacted PhysiOptima early in my second trimester of pregnancy, having been diagnosed with pelvic girdle pain. The pain was very uncomfortable, interrupting my sleep at night and stopping me from moving around properly. It was generally getting me down. I have been amazed by how much difference the physiotherapy has made. A few days after my first session with Kristin, once the initial aches from the manipulations had subsided, I already felt so much better. Kristin gave me lots of exercises, all clearly explained, and we have had a few follow-up sessions, during which time I have got much bigger, but my movement and general comfort levels have almost been normal. I’m really impressed and would certainly recommend PhysiOptima to other pregnant women suffering from pelvic pain.”

I am an active 76 year old and during the past decade I have been a patient at Physioptima three times following various injuries. On each occasion I have had a thorough assessment, a positive diagnosis and a programme of progressive therapy which in each case has resulted in relief from symptoms and return to full activity. I would not hesitate to recommend PhysiOptima.

I was amazed at the results when attending PhysiOptima for treatment for labyrinthitis (a term used by GP) or benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BBPV). The assessment process was detailed and enabled me to understand the diagnosis. The treatment was short and effective and the process explained at each stage. Following this, the process of recovery from dizziness took time (approximately one week). I was well informed at the start of treatment so this was expected. On the second treatment I felt great – the dizziness had gone! I can highly recommend this treatment as dizziness is unpleasant. Kristin was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly – a great combination. Many thanks for all your help.

I was so frustrated when I injured my shoulder and wasn’t able to play golf. Therese, my Physiotherapist, quickly identified the cause of the problem and how it affected my golf swing. She treated the problem areas and gave me progressive golf specific exercises. It helped me not only to have a pain-free swing but also to gain extra  distance with my drive!

I have been doing Pilates for a number of years in different classes and I find Rachel to be an excellent Pilates instructor. The small group size, a maximum of 4, means she has time to concentrate on individual needs.

Having phoned PhysiOptima I was able to get an appointment within a week. I saw Kristin who instantly diagnosed the problem, identified the root cause and  then set about how to correct things as well advising exercises to alleviate the pain. For the first time in many months I’m pain free and walking better than I have done in years.

Andrew Starling, Exning Newmarket, Plantar Fasciitis

I would not hesitate to recommend PhysiOptima. After a road traffic accident, I was left with various residual injuries. Kristin has treated me with professional expert knowledge, giving me different ways of managing my injuries. All the staff are friendly and professional.  The care I have received has been second to none.

Denise Fletcher, Bottisham, Whiplash Injury

I have always found PhysiOptima to be engaging, accommodating and understanding, always with an eye on my needs and requirements. Treatment is provided in clean, safe and friendly surroundings with easy access for the less able. I wouldn’t recommend anywhere else.

Martin Brown, Norfolk

Having been to see Kristin for a labral tear of the hip and runners knee, I can throughly recommend PhysiOptima. A very prompt and efficient service had me back exercising in just a few weeks, and in much less pain!

M Bissett, Newmarket, Marathon runner

Your personal and friendly approach put my teenage daughter at ease. The detailed assessment led to an easy to follow regime and we have seen huge reduction in levels of knee pain. Your service has been invaluable.

Emma Thomas, Isleham, mum of teenager

I was struggling with muscular pain in my upper arm and the only solution from my GP was painkillers. I had treatment with Melissa and the effect was quite amazing. Pain disappeared and the additional benefits were of general well being and assisting with stiffness in neck, shoulders and lower back. Maintenance treatment has been beneficial and I would highly encourage others to see her.

Keith Thomas, London, Retired

All my ponies and horses have always jumped to the right and we’ve never been able to sort it! I had treatment with Melissa on the Friday and on the Sunday we went off to a show and I was straight to every fence and have been ever since! My horse is a lot more balanced and straight on the flat too. Highly recommend.

Ella Ashford, Bury St Edmunds, Showjumping Young Rider

When my daughter was frustrated that none of the physiotherapists she found here in Cambridge could put right a painful and debilitating shoulder, she discovered PhysiOptima in Newmarket and her recovery began. So when I needed help after a very gruesome accident, that is where I went, puzzled that she had found the extra journey time had paid off. We go to a physiotherapist because we want the pain to stop, we want to be fully mobile again and we want to understand how that can be achieved. And that is exactly what we get at PhysiOptima. The massage and manipulation hit the spot, as does the acupressure or acupuncture, and the exercises work. But equally what I value is the careful listening and investigation which leads to  accurate diagnosis. It also leads to trust, and that trust is essential. It is worth the travel, the practitioners are intelligent and kind, the setting is calming and I am grateful.

Hilary Elfick, Cambridge

Over the years I have been to see Therese with several issues and have always found her extremely knowledgeable and genuinely interested in helping you improve and would have no hesitation in recommending her services.

Tony, Bury St. Edmunds

Tom was great helping me with my painful hand and wrist. His investigation was spot on an the advice and exercises he gave me have done wonders. I am really functioning without pain now, and am probably about 80% back to where I need to be. With continued exercise as per Tom’s advice I’m confident of getting a 100% recovery!
